The back seat, made into a corner
Raised sides to lean against, a deep PP-cotton fill, and a strap over the headrest post so the bed stays put. Secured with a harness and tether, as on any seat.
Something to lean on
Two raised walls give a dog a corner to press against on the door and console sides. That is what settles a dog in a moving car — the walls, not the strap.
Stays put under braking
One webbing loop goes over the headrest post. No buckles to thread, nothing to undo when you lift the bed out at the other end of the trip.
A bed first, a car bed second
Lift it out and it works on a hotel floor or a tent floor. Wipe-clean underside, sides that fold in, 1.5 kg for the Medium.

Questions
Does it restrain the dog in a crash?
No. The webbing loop over the headrest post is there to stop the bed sliding forward under braking - it is not a restraint.
Will a 20 kg dog sink to the seat?
No. The PP-cotton fill is dense enough that a 20 kg dog does not bottom out, and light enough to lift the whole bed out with one hand.
What stops the pacing?
The raised walls on the door and console sides - a dog has something to press against in a corner.
What sizes and colours?
Medium and Large, in Olive and Beige. The underside is coated, so a wet or muddy dog leaves no mark.
