No. A built-in rechargeable battery runs it, so it can sit in a kitchen, bedroom or hallway with no cable to chew and no outlet to hunt for.
How long does a charge last?
About 72 days, roughly 10 weeks. Charging takes 5-8 hours over the included 5 V cable.
How does it know when my pet is drinking?
An infrared sensor picks your pet up from up to 1 m and starts the stream. There are three modes: sensor, interval timer or continuous flow.
How much water does it hold?
3.5 L (118 oz), over a gallon - roughly a week or more for a cat. The tank is translucent so the level reads at a glance.
